Grimmspeed Strut Tower Brace – FRS/BRZ/86

Description

The Grimmspeed Strut Tower Brace is the result of arduous testing which includes a collaboration with the FT86 company to develop a strut tower brace to provide additional stiffness between the strut towers which will enhance the stability to provide sharper steering response. During the design process, Grimmspeed has a test vehicle that they used on the street, but they also statically flexed the chassis in their shop. They manually tweaked the chassis and used a FARO Arm to plot-critical points in CAD. This allowed them to identify the weak points within the design. The conclusion was that the OEM triangulation bars do function very well and that a simple 2-point brace was the right solution which was clean, simple, and cost-effective. 

The end brackets on this strut tower brace are laser cut from 3/16″ steel and are precision CNC bent. Grimmspeed sized these brackets to provide maximum strength and stiffness without compromising the thread engagement with the vehicle. The cross tubes are CNC laser cut to length from .125″ wall tubing mild steel. Mild steel offers greater stiffness than stainless steel, and it is assembled using robotically welded construction for unbeatable accuracy and repeatability. The brace is then powder-coated in a durable red finish for extra protection against rust and corrosion. 

Once installed, drivers will enjoy a stiffer chassis which will provide a sharper steering response and better driver feedback which is beneficial especially for those of you who participate in high-performance driving events, or who enjoys the occasional spirited canyon drive.
